Set on top of a hill 30 minutes east of downtown St. Louis, via I-64, Lebanon is a small historic town known for its restored Victorian downtown shopping disctrict. Large, 3 story, brick row buildings line the street with antique stores and speciality shops. Lebanon is also known for McKendree College, one of the oldest colleges in Illinois dating back to the early 1800's. Nestled in a forest of trees, this is a great place for an evening walk to view the old Methodist Chapel with clock tower. On the edge of town you'll find 55 acre Horner Park. A place to walk trails, fish or enjoy the day in the childrens playground. Lebanon's school system is located in one general area for grades K to Senior High.
